The future of Tech Hijack

I have been doing my podcast Tech Hijack for over a year now. I believe that, as a whole the podcast and myself have matured. It is now time to really start thinking of the future of the podcast and the direction for which I want to take it. 

Over the past 6 months, I have been playing around with new formats for the show. I have never wanted to stray from doing tech news, however, sometimes there are some slow news weeks. Since I don't really try to cover the big breaking news, that also poses a problem on some of my stories. I find myself more and more covering those breaking stories. I mean, I pretty much have to. I have though, started playing around with "one" topic episodes of the show. These tend to do better as a whole for me listener wise. I think people enjoy hearing my opinion on these one topic shows be it they agree or disagree with my opinions. 

I have decided that for many of my "one" topic episodes I want to start having a group discussion. Having a few friends on and other people to discuss the topic at hand. The first show that I want to do is on facebook. I already have people planned on being on it, it is just trying to find the time where every one can do it. 

With all this said, what is your opinion of the "one" topic podcast with a group? I think it really opens things up for a nice little conversation and having several thoughts and opinions, I think is a good idea.

Making the Change to SquareSpace.

So I have finally made the plunge! That's right, I am moving away from wordpress and now using Squarespace to host my blog. I really fee this has been one of the best decissions that I have ever made too. Well when it comes to my blog that is. Moving my previous content over was simple as could be, and only took a short period of time. Now I am just playing with the design, Trying to find something that I really like. One thing that I really like though is the fact that I can see changes in real time. I almost feel like I am using a desktop web editor like RapidWeaver or something. I can change templates and in real time see the change and decide if I want to activate it. I can set up pages and wait for specific dates to make them live if I want as well. The WYSIWYG editor is just fantastic, and the ability to drag and drop different aspects of my page around is fantastic. Oh, and did I mention widgets! They couldn't be easier to set up. My Experience with Zazzle

So, I finally did it! I made an online store for some Tech Hijack Merchandise! I know, I shouldn't be so excited. But I was actually surprised how easy it was with zazzle.com. It literally only took me about 5 minutes to setup and get product in it. Now I know, I don't have a lot of things. I think I actually only have 3 or 4 things. But that is only because I will be reworking some of my graphics to make them more user friendly for the product.

I have used a competitor before for an online store and it was quite a mess. In fact the other site terminated my account because of my logo, But refused to tell me any other specifics. So I have been weary about trying it again. But I think this time will be different. Even though I have physical product of my i-corey.com shirts, I am thinking that a majority will be easier to sell online through zazzle.com.
