The future of Tech Hijack

I have been doing my podcast Tech Hijack for over a year now. I believe that, as a whole the podcast and myself have matured. It is now time to really start thinking of the future of the podcast and the direction for which I want to take it.

Over the past 6 months, I have been playing around with new formats for the show. I have never wanted to stray from doing tech news, however, sometimes there are some slow news weeks. Since I don't really try to cover the big breaking news, that also poses a problem on some of my stories. I find myself more and more covering those breaking stories. I mean, I pretty much have to. I have though, started playing around with "one" topic episodes of the show. These tend to do better as a whole for me listener wise. I think people enjoy hearing my opinion on these one topic shows be it they agree or disagree with my opinions.

I have decided that for many of my "one" topic episodes I want to start having a group discussion. Having a few friends on and other people to discuss the topic at hand. The first show that I want to do is on facebook. I already have people planned on being on it, it is just trying to find the time where every one can do it.

With all this said, what is your opinion of the "one" topic podcast with a group? I think it really opens things up for a nice little conversation and having several thoughts and opinions, I think is a good idea.

Let me know what you think!

My name is Corey, and I'm a fanboy!

Yes, it is true. I am an apple fan boy. I know, I know, it is hard to believe, But I wouldn't lie about something like this. I have always been very open about it though. I find it funny though that a lot of people don't believe me about the amount of iPods I have and use. With this snapshot I only have a few of my iPods connected to my computer. I couldn't find my other USB Hubs to connect my other Shuffle or my two iPod Nanos. This of course is not my normal charging/syncing routine. I get away with not charging a majority of my iPods for at least a week at a time. Now the main question on every ones mind is probably "What do you use all those iPods for?" Well I will tell you!

First you will notice an iPhone plugged in. This has little music on it, this is a phone and is used as a phone and SMS. Of course I use apps on it, but I rarely use it as an iPod. Though I do have a couple movies on it.

My iPod Touch is used as a gaming console for the most part. It has a lot of my useful apps, but mostly consists of games and some music. This is brought with me if I am going to be some where for a while and don't want to kill my iPhone playing around.

My 5th Gen iPod is used mostly at home in an iHome Desk Lamp, I will use it for when I am sleeping. This holds most of my music.

My Three shuffles are used for nearly the same purpose. My first gen shuffle has Independent music on it and is used for local travel, My 2nd Gen Shuffle has Classic Rock on it and is used for working out. and my 3rd Gen shuffle has Modern Rock on it and is also used for working out. Yes, I do work out!

Now for the Two iPod Nanos. I have a 3rd gen and a 4th gen. The 3rd Gen nano has mostly music, 1 or 2 podcasts and 1 or 2 audiobooks on it. This is mostly used for long road trips. Depending on the road trip I will add more audiobooks. The 4th gen nano has only podcasts and Audiobooks on it. This is for when I am working. This was the iPod I was using nearly all the time at my last job. Audiobooks make the time fly by.

Now you probably notice the Apple TV there too. Well that is used for all my iTunes Movies, TV Shows and I subscribe to Video podcasts on it as well.

Well, there you have it. I really didn't need to explain my usage, But I get asked about it a lot.
