Seesmic Separation

So today I went to Seesmic for the first time since about January or February of 2009 and saw that the only thing there was their Twitter interface. I remember the last time I used it, it was all video and remember rumblings of "Seesmic Desktop". Needless to say I was in shock. I started thinking it was odd that they would abandon video since that is what they started off as.

Then later this afternoon I started tinkering around and found that their video service was still around, but was now under seesmic.tv. Either way this is all odd to me. When did this separation happen? Why not just have it all be the same site? Or why not name your twitter client something else? There may be people out there that are confused like me. Ok, so probably not. It is really my fault for not using the site and therefor not noticing the changes. I hope this hasn't happened to any other sites I forget to go to.

Tweetie? Not so much.

I have written about Tweetie before. Mostly I griped about people using it because of Kevin Rose. My thoughts are still the same that a majority of people are using Tweetie because Kevin Rose uses it. These are the same people that if Kevin said is dick tasted like Chocolate that they would be in line to suck his COCK! Ok, maybe that was a little harsh, But he does have a huge influence on people and many people listen to him. But lets get back on track.

A few days ago I finally decided to give Tweetie a try on the iPhone. I figured "What the hell? It's only a couple of bucks". And to be honest I was quite surprised at how well it is designed. I still don't know if I love it or not, But it is a pretty decent iPhone Twitter client.

Well after the experience of their iPhone app, I figured why not give their mac desktop client a go. So I downloaded it to give it a try, decided not to pay for it just yet. I launched the Tweetie application and.....It sucks! Yes, I said it all you tweetie lovers. Their iPhone app is good, but their desktop client makes me want to put my cock in a blender! Sure, it offers multiple account logins, but it is so poorly designed that to me it is un-usable. I am a tweetdeck user and like to have groups. I like to put tweetdeck in it's own space on my mac and let it do its own thing. The Tweetie Desktop client looks like they just ported over the iPhone app.

So with this, I am done using the desktop client for my main account. I may keep it going for my two other accounts that I rarely use, But I don't see much use of it for my main twitter account. Just un-usable.
